Youth : An avatar of New Earth

World Environment Day is celebrated annually on 5th June since 1973. It is a celebration of our Planet Earth. World Environment Day is the largest global platform for environmental public outreach and is celebrated by millions of people across the world. It is time to create awareness about environmental issues to make significant changes in global environmental policies. With our depleting natural resources, highly politicized environmental approaches, and slow impactful plans, our world is on the verge of ecological collapse.

We need to preserve our mother earth if we want to live a healthy, happy, and sustainable life. Youth are the catalyst in our society. Youth are dynamic and ready to venture into saving our mother planet. Youth will create a Pygmalion effect in the mindset of global citizens to save our planet earth. They are the new avatar to create a new earth free from all the pollution.

UN Secretary, General António Guterres said in his World Environment Day message, “We must work as one – governments, companies, and consumers alike – to break our addiction to plastics, champion zero waste, and build a truly circular economy.” As we start a new academic year, let us make our Youth – an avatar of our new earth.
